Is Pagemint really free?
Yes. All tools are free to use with no signup, no watermark and no daily limits.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool processes your file inside your own browser, and your documents are never sent to Pagemint. You can confirm this by opening your browser's network panel, or by switching off your internet connection after the page has loaded and using a tool.
What kinds of PDF tasks can Pagemint do?
Pagemint offers 30 tools: merge, split, compress, rotate, crop, organize, number pages, watermark, edit, sign, redact, compare, OCR, repair, clean, protect, unlock, and conversions between PDF and Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG and HTML.
Which browsers work best?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. Large files and OCR run faster on a computer.
Is Pagemint safe for confidential documents?
Because files are processed on your device and not uploaded, it is a good fit for private documents. As with any software, keep your browser updated and avoid shared computers for sensitive files.
How can I check that my file is not uploaded?
Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use a tool. You will see no upload of your file. You can also load a tool page, turn off your internet connection, and the tool will still work.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no limit set by Pagemint, because your own device does the work. Very large files (hundreds of megabytes) can be slow or run out of memory on phones.
Does Pagemint work offline?
After a tool page has loaded, most tools keep working without a connection. OCR downloads its engine the first time you use it, so load it once while online.
Are electronic signatures made with Sign PDF legally binding?
A drawn signature image placed on a PDF is a simple electronic signature. Whether it is accepted depends on your country and the document. It is not a certificate-based digital signature. Check the requirements for your situation.
Why does a converted file look different from the original?
PDF is a fixed-layout format, while Word, Excel and PowerPoint are flowing formats. Browser-based conversion keeps text and basic structure but cannot always reproduce complex layouts, so each tool page lists what is and is not kept.
Can Pagemint remove a PDF password I forgot?
No. Unlock PDF needs the correct current password. It does not crack or bypass encryption.
Does Pagemint add watermarks to my files?
No. Files are never watermarked, unless you use the Watermark PDF tool and add one yourself.
